Upon graduating from high school, it is important for students to think about their plans for the future, whether they include additional schooling, joining the workforce, or some other activity. After, I graduate from high school in the year of 2017 I plan on attending college in the fall. I want to attend college in New York City because I am more of a city person, I want to be able to explore, but also to be successful in my life. I plan on expanding my knowledge and be able to learn more in my lifetime. Also I want to go to college to make my family proud. Setting goals for yourself gives you ways to prepare yourself and at the end it benefits you in so many remarkable, and positive ways prior to you succeeding your goal. I plan to set goals for myself especially before I graduate high school and even after. One of my goals before graduating high school so that I can attend college is to maintain my grades in high school. It is important for me to maintain my grades importantly because it is always good to have amazing grades. It is also important to have a high GPA. Colleges look at your GPA. I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force. The dream that I most desire in life is to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I’ve always had an interest in the inner workings of the human body, but I also value life, and care for others, and my happiness is the happiness of others. Although this career has its bumps on the road just to see mothers face light up when they see the image of their unborn baby is such a breath taking experience. This all originated from going to one of my sisters’ ultrasound appointment that I ended up going to all my sisters’ ultrasound appointments. The life I have had so far has taught me a lot about academic and life skills; from when I was about six to the age I am now. I am always learning and happy to learn new things. To be blunt, I applied to attend CC because I horsed around my freshman, sophomore and partially my junior year. I didn’t try to get any foreign language credits, algebra 2, or prep for college at all. I was focused on passing well enough not to get grounded. Now that I’m so close to graduation I am seeing where I went wrong with that method, and I want to be a Veterinarian. To be this, I need to have those credits to attend the university I want to, and I also need a stronger transcript. I am hoping that by attending CC I can strengthen these things and work to be a better student.
As a young child, I had always dreamed of going to college. Growing up in a blue collar, lower class family, college was never an option. Throughout my young life, I’ve had many goals. Some maintainable, and some incredibly ridiculous that should have never even been a thought in my mind. Ridiculous or not, it’s important to have goals to keep yourself motivated by pushing yourself to be the best that you can be. In college, it’s so important for us to have personal, academic, and professional goals for many reasons. For one, having goals help us welcome the day with excitement knowing that if we push ourselves we can accomplish amazing things.

The goals that I have set for will help me grow as person in the future. The personal goals that I have set for myself are to graduate high school, start college and get my degree, and get a job and start a family. With the goals I have set for myself, I believe that with hard work good rewards will soon follow.
I have always wanted to make good grades but I never really set any goals but, then I realized that setting academic goals are way more important than people realize . I then started to set goals like my sophomore year of high school after I did that it really helped me focus on my future and what I wanted for myself. My goals I think pushed me so much more academically they opened my eyes a little bit more. One Goal I set was to graduate High school with a Core 40 diploma, which I did, so that is one goal down and a bunch more to go. My senior year I started applying to college but my main goal was to make into Saint Mary-of-the Woods and when I received my acceptance letter I was ecstatic. So far, I am still trying to figure out my academic goals for college but, I do know for sure that I want to succeed in every single way that I can so I can make a better future for myself. A goal that I made this year is to make the dean’s list every single time, for this I will study so hard for every test, do all of my homework, and ask questions when I have them and maybe even getting a tutor. This challenge will probably be really tough but I believe that I can do it if I put my mind to it, and I tend to be a very determined
