Should students spend every last minute of their life doing homework? Imagine a student's teacher handing them piles of homework that has to be done for the next day. There is absolutely no way that students can finish a great deal of homework in a matter of twenty-four hours. Receiving homework is as upsetting as a kid dropping their ice cream cone on the sidewalk. Homework should be optional for all students that have a 95% average or higher in a certain class. Firstly, too much homework can cause a significant amount of stress when there is so much work to be done. Too much homework causes stress because there is a great lack of time after school to finish the work that is due. People have been stating that if the Superintendent denies homework, then students could get unemployed very easily and could raise the high poverty. To clarify, if students get used to not having homework, then they will end up doing poorly when they become an adult and start their careers. On the contrary, students should gain experience working instead of having so much homework. For instance, students shouldn’t need multiple hours of homework to complete each night. “There is no good evidence supporting that homework produces better academic achievement” (www.alfie kohn.org).
