Emma Goldman an anarchist known for her political activism, writing, and speeches once said that “If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.” The real problem is the voter not the election. It does not matter if they use the traditional voting system which is counting the votes manually or if they use the new voting system through the use of biometric machine such as the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine. What matters the most is the vote that will be counted. A vote can be equal to a better future or a worse nightmare for all. Before a Filipino voter can vote he must first comply with the requirements that a voter must have which is to have a Filipino citizenship, must be at least 18 years of age, must have live in the Philippines …show more content…

Of course it could be normal for some families to talk about who they will vote and as a family they do it together. There are instances that if a mother will vote for this certain candidate her son or daughter who is already allowed to vote will also vote for that politician too because according to their mother that politician is good and trustworthy. That is how others influence a voter, they listen to others and they copy their decision without knowing the other politicians well because the other person really defended that certain politician well. Since everyone is given a chance to decide for himself then he must decide to whom he will vote for by himself. Never let others decide for you. The third aspect is a negative factor. There is always a negative aspect in everything; vote buying is an example of a negative factor that affects voters. There are usually some politicians who buy the votes of the voters. Their technique is to give money or anything the people needs especially those who are really in need and live as informal settlers so that when the election comes those persons will vote for them, but after the election nothing happens. The informal settlers’ remains as informal settlers and some politicians will forget about them or even evict them from their homes because the government will use that land to build new subdivisions or buildings.
