Finding a parking space might not be a major concern for some USC Aiken students who live on campus, those who are commuters find over-crowded parking lots an issue. Those who commute to school claim that a lack of parking spaces creates an issue with being on time for class. Faculty and staff parking spaces are indicated by yellow lines; student parking spaces are indicated by white lines.
"It's ridiculous," said Tierra McBride, a senior communication major. "There is no place to park especially when I have a 10 a.m. class.
The lack of parking spaces, she said, keeps her from being on time for class, she has to constantly circle the parking lot to find a park. Just right before 10 a.m. is the hardest to find a park, many students have class around this time.

"It's almost impossible to find a decent parking spot in the middle of the day that's close to the building that my class is in," she said.
Majority of Gabrielle's classes have taken place in the Science Building; therefore, she must park in the D-Lot which happens to be packed Monday- Friday. She has been late quite a few times for her midday classes because of the lack of parking spaces.
Another concern for a student at USCA is the lack of communication from each department.
Jasmine Edwards, a senior early childhood education major feels as if students need to be knowledgeable when it comes to things changing on campus.
"When the Chancellor has made selective decisions that benefit the University, many students don't know about them unless there is actually an event that offers cake and punch," she said.
The Student Government Association has happened to step in over the last few months to help students become aware of how the University is constantly changing day by day.

As a commuter to McDaniel College, I don’t spend much time on campus outside of classes. Therefore, the relevance of after school activities doesn’t apply to me as much. Keeping current with events happening on campus grounds, is often a daunting task. However in the spirit of class participation, I decided to create awareness that fall break is upon us.
At times, I noticed that the mayor would have probably been more attentive hearing from irate citizens than listen to Armenta trying to get clarifications to C-5. Unexciting as the council meeting agenda items might have been, it was still fascinating to see local government at work in such an orderly, proper fashion. We may disagree on particular ordinances or agenda items, but we will do so in an appropriate way that does not disrupt the city at large, and even though the topics of discussion were mostly mundane, students should still at one point or another witness their local governments at work. Doing so leads to a greater understanding for how day-to-day city improvements take affect and how important it can be to voice your opinion and be a leader within your community.

Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Still, like high school, my mom dropped me off and picked me up; copping almost the exact same routine from the four years I spent in high school. Students should not feel the anxiety of being late to class based on the CSUF parking issues. Tardiness often suggests that students could be lazy or show lack of care for their education. On the other hand, tardiness may be different at a school similar to CSUF. Titan students will quickly learn that they must show up to school an hour early in order to find a parking space, if they are lucky. Due to students not being capable of finding a parking space on time, they are generally tardy to their college courses. In this case, student’s education should not be affected due to parking issues. However, colleges are not as impacted in the summer, therefore, students should not be expected to worry about finding an open location to park. As a leader candidate, I can understand the challenges and multiplicity of complications that administrators must face each day. However, I will not accept any remote possibility that the students must be affected by some flaws of the school organization. We all as leaders, must be strategic with people, time, and money to guide our students towards an academic success.
Parking has been a problem on Western’s campus for a while. Only time will tell if it will get any better or not. The biggest contributing factor seems to be that freshmen are allowed to have cars, creating the dilemma of backed lots, parking somewhere else, or risking parking illegally in other spaces. Freshmen will continue to be allowed to have cars for now because WMU wants their students to have a certain level of freedom and make their own decisions. Realizing many lots will be backed can be a pain but it’s the price to pay for allowing every student to have a car on campus.
Parking by the dormitories is almost impossible. Students who live at particular dorms find themselves faced with the problem of having to park on the other side of campus. Those who live in Brown Hall, which is behind the Thompson center, have the most parking problems on campus. This is because the Thompson center is a very large building housing various departments on campus. Therefore it receives a lot of traffic all day. Visitors to the campus are taking over the parking lots around the Thompson center, which is forcing students to park other places on campus and some students chose to disregard the signs posted for reserved parking.
In college, attendance is crucial to students’ success. Being late to class can result in having less time to take a test or missing fundamental concepts that may be discussed in a classroom. Students must take responsibility by arriving on time; however, limited parking spaces and other transportation problems at many universities can cause students to be late which can result in poor academic performance. The University of Texas at San Antonio, one of most populous cities in Texas, has 29,000 enrolled students (UTSA . . .). During peak hours, one must be timely to find a parking space; many students find themselves driving in circles while hoping to find someone else leaving the campus and others wait for a shuttle bus that has a reputation of arriving late. Due to transportation problems, some students may feel unmotivated to study in the library or go to class regularly. Therefore, the University of Texas at San Antonio should improve student transportation because doing so could increase students’ academic performance.
While studying or even registering for a class presents a challenge to some college students, the greatest obstacle remains, going to class. Attending college is supposed to signify a new found freedom to make many important choices regarding education without high school mandatory attendance policies. However, students everywhere are coming to the staggering realization that college is not too different from high school. Teachers still take class roll and students are still expected to be at every class on time. What next, hall monitors in the hall? The time has come for action to be taken. Colleges must abolish mandatory student attendance policies for several reasons to be further discussed.
... of going to Travis Early College High School is the fact that I have the honors of taking courses with our partner school, the San Antonio College. I am part of the first class to ever pass through Travis’s door, and I have already taken eight courses. When the time is right I absentmindedly transfer buses for the remainder of my hour long journey, one I will take every Monday through Thursday until July eighth. The tan doors of Travis are welcoming as I march off the bus, however I am to be going in the cool, intimidating doors of SAC today – to learn about Mass Communications. From that point on my day goes smoothly, I listen intently to my professor, actively taking notes and participating until dismissed. Then I take the bus home and prepare to start the cycle again the next day, and the next, until the scorching summer heat turns to a soft late summer breeze.
It is hard to find parking on campus, especially during rush hours. Both students and professors are encountering trouble for this crisis. As a simple example, the parking lot next to the Sarkeys building is always full. This problem is a continuous, daily hazard. As a student required to maintain a lot of class schedules and activities, I suffer from the parking problem daily and find that others encounter the same. It is true that the university is working on a new parking garage, but during the construction process, there is no alternative way to settle the crisis.
