People feel inspired to change and improve the world when they have a global awareness realization in which either a worldwide event or personal experience brings awareness of worldly conflicts without happening to them directly, and it influences them to feel passionate about changing the world. Others are also impacted when it happens to themselves or people they know, and it instigates the recognition of how they are not the only victim. Regardless of which scenario, these people contemplate their experience on a deeper level and decide that differences could be established for all the similar victims across the globe. This leads them to feeling and acting ardently about improving the world for victims of a particular global issue. “Then, when he was twelve years old, he was murdered. I had never heard of child labor and wasn’t certain where Pakistan was - but that day changed by life forever. I gathered a group of friends to form an organization called Free the Children” (Kielburger, 13-18). This proves that people are influenced by the stories of victims of intensely impacting world problems, and because of this, they establish the decision to do everything in their ability to change the world for the better. During his journey to end world poverty, Kielburger also meets street children and youths in poverty who inspire him by having kindness and the courage to dream and share despite their poor living conditions. A poor child named Jose, for instance, gave him his shirt despite it being the most important object in his possession. This kindness inspired Kielburger to improve the lives of others like Jose, who were brave enough to give and act kindly. They made him realize how many people face the same, unfair conflicts on a daily basis and were unable to pursue their dreams like the majority of fortunate people could. All the children Kielburger met impacted his decision
