Another influence that allow people to conform and fall under the pressure are when people are in the group. People tend to conform more when they are in groups compared to when they are more by themselves. How many people does it take for people to feel like they need to conform? Based on the data that was found in most people conform in bigger group because it goes along with peer pressure and just wanting to fit in (Levitan and Verhulst, 2016). Also, another reason is that people don’t like the feeling of being wrong. People perceive everyone in a certain light whether it is right or wrong. Most people conform or fall under the peer pressure of people that are well dress and look nice compared to a person that dress down (Ender, Coward, Edwards, & Geller, 1975). Also, another reason why people tend to conform to certain people is if that person is seen as being the smartest person in the group (Ender, Coward, Edwards, & Geller, 1975). When people believe that other are more superior than themselves they tend to surrender their own thoughts and feels and follow another’s. They tend to follow someone elses because they believe that person is smart then them because of how that person holds themselves to the world. People tend to doubt themselves so instead of believing in themselves they rather conform and believe in the people they hold or perceive in their minds to have a high rank by looking nice and sounding smarter. Stepping out of the group means relaying on yourself which people tend to have trouble letting go and believe that they are right.
