Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death of people between the ages of 1 and 54 in the United States. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death in teens. It has been proven time after time, that a person’s life could be saved by simply putting a seatbelt on. “According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 15,000 lives are saved each year in the United States because drivers and passengers were wearing their seatbelts when they were in accidents.” The government can try to persuade Americans to wear their seatbelts, but not everyone is very compliant.
