After reflecting upon the devotional, it is evident that God is a constructivist whose creation of mankind was implemented through backward design. There are several pieces of evidence that support the notion that God is a backward designer. One piece of evidence involves the order in which God created man. As apparent in Genesis 1:26, God had a desired result in mind prior to the creation of mankind, which displays the first step involved in the backward design theory. God declared, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground (Genesis 1:26).” Through His word, it is unmistakable that God is a constructivist by nature due to the fact that he proclaimed his desired result, which was for mankind to rule over the earth, prior to implementing His …show more content…
Following this, God determined acceptable evidence in support of His desired outcome, which is the second step involved in the constructivist theory. Through His word, as stated in John 1:12, God deemed that acceptable evidence was that those who trust and believe in Him are His children. In addition to creating acceptable evidence, God planned learning experiences for mankind and provided instructions on how to obtain His desired result; thus, displaying the third step in the constructivist theory. Although, as stated in Hebrews 12:7-11, these learning experiences consist of hardships and tribulations, children of God trust in Him and understand that through all things He is good. This is further supported through His word, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! If as believers we fail to completely trust the Word of God and form our life under its direction then our witness will become misleading and even confusing. Believer’s effort in diligently understanding, applying and holding full trust to the word of God in all aspects of our life will be instrumental in building our faith. Such a faith will elevate us to enable us rise above the unrelenting wave of our culture’s non-biblical ideologies. In Genesis chapter 1, verse 1, why did God create the heavens and earth first? He could have created light and darkness first to theoretically help Him see when He made the heavens and earth. Or better yet, He could have created man first so there would be extra help for the of creation. The fact that God deliberately created everything in a specific order shows that God has perfect timing and an agenda He’s following. If we use the example of Christ’s first coming we know that God did not send Him right away.
There are several creation stories from many different cultures. Many of them revolve around the importance of the formation of the world and the making of man and the significance of their existence. Every story is unique in its reasons for creating man as well as what expectations they put on their people. Similarly in most of the tales the gods ask their people to follow them and in turn, if they are faithful, they will be protected from harm. Man’s only job is to follow their gods’ will and live as they are told.
When you read chapter one of Genesis you have the feeling that God is perfect. God holds all power and control. God turns chaos into order. "God said 'Let there be light.' And there was light, And God saw the light, that it was good" (Gen 1. 3). God's word is action, God's word is law in the universe. When God creates something, he ends it with God seeing that's its good. This is in effect giving support to the perfect nature that is God and the creations God has made. "God does not play dice" (Armstrong 9), God has order and a purpose for what he makes. An important aspect to God is seen while he is creating the world. He separates water from land. Light from Darkens, Day and Night, Male and Female. This shows that boundaries are important to God. We see examples where God put boundaries on mankind with their language by mixing the language up so confuse man and killing off the evil from the good.
Every day God created something new and blesses it. God created nothing irrelevant or unworthy. Entirely everything he created served a purpose. Also all he had created came from nothing. The fish were undeniably produced out of the waters, and the beasts and man out of the earth; but that earth and those waters were made out of nothing. God created what is known as the world today and everything that exists on the earth. Reading Genesis 1 gives all mankind an idea of how life started and how the earth was formed to be this magnificent place. The earth is very complicated yet God could solve all of the problems and create blessings. He gave us light and darkness, day and night, water and land. He created all living creature including mankind.
