There are many ways which God reveals himself to the nations of the world. One way is through revelation. The Catholic Church claims to have the revelations of Christ in the Gospels. Many may doubt this since these books are so old and might have been edited or the men who wrote them might have been insane. The Catholic Church, as is usual, gives several arguments for their authenticity. There are three trials that must be performed to test the Gospels’ reliability. These tests are genuineness, integrity, and veracity. The genuineness of the Gospels is proven by the references that those, who lived around the same time, make towards the Gospels. The Apostles and their disciples were normal men. They could not be hallucinating or else the spread of Christianity was and is a complete and utter miracle. The things they wrote of were quite extraordinary yet they themselves were nothing more than fisherman, not learned men of high degree. It would be impossible for men of their standards to be able to imagine something so spectacular unless they had witnessed what they wrote of. Certain persons have even gone to such levels that they say, if what Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote had been nothing at but their imaginations and their own philosophy, they would be more extraordinary than the main character, Jesus, in their stories. Not only this, but the authors of the Gospels told of how Jesus reproved people such as the scribes for their evil ways. These men, who wrote about the wickedness of scribes and the pharisees, would have been even more wicked if they wrote of these things but were, themselves, great liars. This does not seem to be the answer for these men could not have written such wonderful things and be so God fearing to be the most loathsome liars. It can also be said that, at the time the Gospels were written, others had witnessed the same things as the authors. This would mean that anything inaccurate would have been seen and would have been pronounced as
