World War II started right before Autumn in 1939 and lasted for six years. Two of the United States allies, France and Britain declared war on Germany because Adolf Hitler invaded Poland. Hitler is also known for ordering the massacre of over six million Jewish people in Germany. The massacre today is known as the Holocaust. After World War I, millions of people in Germany were unemployed during the Great Depression. This Great Depression helped Hitler rise politically because once Hitler rose in power, he would punish any military force who challenged his propaganda. Hitler began to make laws and regulations that excluded Jewish people, sort of like the laws in America that excluded African Americas. Jewish people were also restricted from participating in activities such as sports and they were restricted from attending public schools and colleges. …show more content…

African American pilots were crucial in the defeat of the German Nazis. “Before the Tuskegee Airmen, no African American had been a pilot in the United States military”. African Americans were limited in the roles the served in the United States military. The first enlisted African Americans worked in the supply, maintenance and transportation unit. However, African Americans wanted bigger roles in the armed forces. In 1917 African American men tried to become pilots but they were rejected. “The rejection of African Americans in World War I caused civil rights leaders to advocate for African Americans to fight in World War II”. On April 3, 1939, the Appropriations Bill Public law passes by congress had an amendment allowing funds for the training of African American pilots known as the Tuskegee
