Ever heard of the American Revolution? The French Revolution? Or perhaps World War II? Those were all wars fought for freedom. Whether it be freedom for themselves or for others, freedom is important and a right that everybody should have. But in some places it is merely a dream. In some places it is merely an idea talked about behind closed doors. It is an idea that can come and go in the blink of an eye. Freedom needs to be fought for by the people wanting it for themselves, not just by generations past. Everybody has their own definition of freedom. People might consider social media a freedom and others might believe that that is something to just take for granted. It all depends on where a person comes from and what a person has experienced through the years. In the end, freedom will always mean that a person has a right to choose. Whether a person can choose to wear a red or blue sweater that day or even what career they would like to pursue, should not make a difference. That choice might not always be available to people though if they do not fight for their own freedom. It is a forever changing concept that is molded to what that generation believes it is. It has never experienced complete freedom, because there is a place that has a dictator. There is a place where people do not have equal rights. There is a place where people are scared to walk outside afraid of getting shot. Those people did not ask for those occurrences to happen to them, so there is no reason to let that blind anybody from wondering why they should help others.
