Wearable Technology Imagine how groundbreaking it was, when in 1286 the first eyeglasses were created. People going from seeing only blurriness to crystal clear vision was amazing, but obviously it took time to perfect the eyeglasses. Now, people wouldn’t even think of glasses as wearable technology, they are just simply glasses to us because they are a norm in our society today, but especially because it has no electronics or other technology placed into the device. This being everyone in the histories the basis of most early inventions. The idea of a wearing a watch for your wearable technology is I think the best spot on your body for one. There are so many different types of technological watches which do serve as a watch sometimes, but other times they have completely different uses. The Fitbit for instance, kind of stole Nike’s Nike+ idea of a shoe sensor connected to their Ipod, however like I said before a watch or wristband type technology is the most popular now a days for the simplicity of using it like a normal watch. Although, Fitbit is an amazing company and creation you still need accessibility to an Iphone to use it, which I believe is the most important aspect of wearable technology today. Along with the Bluetooth headphones, Apple Watches, there are 1 million different uses for the Iphone from thousands and thousands of apps, to do all different sorts of tasks. Apple makes the other companies wince because of their ability to put everything in a big picture, then dissect these big pictures to know exactly what to use and how to go about it. For instance, although they were mainly a computer company. Their knowledge of the future of wearable technology was vast. They studied the 1969 walkman with cassette tapes, then discmans in 1984, following after was MP3 players in the early 1990’s, then came Ipods to destroy the competition out of MP3s. The biggest aspect of why this idea worked so well was the connectivity and accessibility to everything on one platform, Apple’s platforms were the not so secret weapon to control all of the wearable technology. Although, many companies are trying to knock Apple off of the totem pole, it’s safe to say they aren’t giving up power any time
