“ The point is not to become a leader. The point is to become yourself, and to use yourself completely – all your gifts, skills and energies – to make your vision manifest. You must withhold nothing. You must, in sum, become the person you started out to be, and to enjoy the process of becoming.” (Warren Bennis, On Becoming a Leader). This quote by Warren Bennis opens my eyes to a whole new value of the possibilities of life. The vision of becoming a leader is not just put into place for those who have special traits given to them. An individual finding their strengths and weaknesses and properly applying oneself forms a leader. There are many of different visions on the most affective approaches and skills of a leader. However, each and every one of us are different in our own way, bring unique assets and the ability to lead differently. (Yuchasz, 2015) Everyone has the capability to become a leader if they can motivate themselves to look deep into their personality and find their gifts, what makes them unique. This consists of living a life that has meaning and a purpose. One that may not be the vision we had for ourselves at a young age, but one that we are able to respect in our adult years. (LeBlanc, 2012) The individual must understand the concept of building morals that contribute to having a positive impact on others. A willingness to gain an understating of their personal beliefs, habits, motivations and values . A leader that fully respects his/herself can understand and appreciate the value each of us contains. They will understand that we are all human, which makes us different and unique. We don’t all have the same strengths or the ability to be the best at everything.
