My heritage from my father's side of the family begins in the Barbados Islands, Atlantic, though much of my family spread around the world. They lived a peaceful life. In the 1970s my great grandfather was offered a job and moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. As a middle class family my grandmother, Candice Boyce, was student in middle school. Candice graduated high school in 1974. My great grandfather flew to Los Angeles, California over a job offer. After he and the family arrived in California, they gained their citizenship 5 years later.
Barbados is an island in the Atlantic Ocean. A majority of 95% of the population is Christian with ties to the Anglican church. Barbados architecture was established by Britain using wood, stone, and coral. …show more content…

Thomas is one of the Virgin Islands. Dutch, French and Danish culture Arabic, Indian, African, Creole, and other Caribbean islands have contributed elements to the islands’ culture. Virgin Islands cuisine involves large meals with spices, usually fish. Other foods are grown and raised locally on farms. The languages spoken in the Virgin Islands are English, Spanish, Creole, and Danish. Due to Americanization the Virgin Islands have taken up American sports such as baseball, American football and basketball, but still play their original sports of cricket.
