Veterans Pros And Cons Essay

I think the United States Army has its own type of community. Although some may be better than others may, The Army has a very special outlook on the world. As a diverse entity when it comes to the race and nationality of a person, the way individuals and groups looks on the military says it all. People look at active duty soldiers, as well as veterans many different ways. When I Joined the Army in 2006, I had many different races in my command. When I joined, it really did not have a role in the community of people. We wore the same thing and have the same style of haircut. However, when we all left from training to different military installations it all changed. Although we still wear the same thing during the day when we all go to our …show more content…

Some civilians treat veterans well while others treat veterans poorly. I know that there are many businesses, for instance Wal-Mart, that has a program for hiring veterans. I think that there are many pros and cons to hiring veterans. I know that many veterans obtain useful skills while serving in the armed forces. Many include being punctual. I always arrive anywhere I am at or try to be fifteen minutes early. I know that I have learned a great work ethic while I was serving, I never give up on anything and I always try to complete the task. I think I possess great leadership skills while serving so I believe that hiring veterans is a great decision but with all the pros there are always cons too. For instance, I have much training in firearms, military tactics, and laws but I do not believe being a police office would be the best job for me due to other events that has happened to me in …show more content…

I know when I got my discharge papers I drove off base and thought to myself driving home what am I going to do now? I did not know how to wake up before the rooster’s crow. While still serving the soldiers always say that, we do more work before seven in the morning than most do in a day. It is also very challenging in terms of being always hyperactive vigilant. Driving down the road being extra careful or just having a place in life. Getting out of the military was a complete life-changing event. Even though I gave many orders, being a team-leader I also received many orders. Soldiers always have a boss in the military. I know I was a smart person or I try to think that I am anyway. I did not have a place I thought. That is what the military took from me. The Infantry has a sick sense of humor, some that civilians may not every get. I would have to say that the cursing would have to be a problem of adapting too. I remember coming home and my wife always got on to me about the language I use but I thought it was normal. It was very challenging of having to sit at the dinner table not knowing what to say because I would not know if they would even understand. The last but probably the most significant change that I had to endure was the selective talking. What I am trying to say is that if I were to go and talk to one of my friends that I served with about some of the missions that we had to go on it would be perfectly
