There are many values that I hold near and dear to my heart that alter every decision I make and have lead me on my path through life. I feel as the woman I am today there are many positive values that I follow that have made me the person I am today. Some of my core values that I like to live by are trust, balance, acceptance, faith, and independence. I relate and apply each of these core values at my practicum site everyday, and will continue to apply them through my work as a family life educator. Trust is an important value to me because I feel that it is such an important component for a strong and healthy relationship. I feel it is so important to have a perfect balance of different things in your life. Examples of this are: balance between work and family, balance between time with boyfriend and friends, etc. I use balance in my daily life at the YMCA because I keep a healthy balance between my practicum and my social life. I would not be an effective FLE if I let overspill from my family life interfere with how I act at the YMCA, so this is why balance is a necessity for me to be successful. Acceptance is a value I hold that helps me tremendously at the YMCA. I accept every child and staff member as who they are, because I would want them to accept me for who I am! Accepting people for who they are is a crucial step in a strong and healthy relationship. Faith is something that I apply in all aspects of life alongside religion. I apply my faith at the YMCA by doing good and promoting healthy development for the children and having good faith that I am going to see positive results. Some days are very hard, and I have to remind myself that it is not all going to happen all at once. I keep chugging along and keep faith in my FLE education that I know what I am doing is
