The Uniform Crime Report has been a significant source of information on heavy loads of crimes in the United States since the year of 1930. The Uniform Crime Reports were traditionally accumulated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, also known as FBI, were known as official statistics and was the primary source of our knowledge. Today, this information is referred to as the Crime in the United States. The Uniform Crime Reports would define crimes into two parts of offenses part A and Part B, this classification would separate the differences from intense crimes to less intense crimes for the purpose of National Statistics. There are a wide amount of agencies that frequently research, study and report their findings on juveniles who may be in trouble. In the past 75 years many more data has been collected that contributes to the knowledge of juveniles and their dilemmas.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police suggested that crimes that occur nationally should be collected and reported to get an better understanding of the nature of crimes. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was chosen as the clearinghouse for this information. Every …show more content…

Crimes that are less serious such as minor assaults, buying, receiving possessing stolen property, carrying and possessing weapons, forgery, fraud and counter fitting are all known are Part B offenses. When reporting these arrests the Uniform Crime Reports provides information on the age, race and the frequency of crimes that is committed from the offender. This data is useful to determine whether or not the amount of crimes is increasing or decreasing by race and age of the offenders. This data is kept in the analysis of juvenile crimes by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Bureau of Justice
