Describe the role of diet in preventing underweight, overweight, and obesity. Having a good diet and inputting a normal routine of exercise will help keep someone underweight and healthy, your immune system would be in a lot better shape to fight against colds and germs, your heart would also be in better condition to help pump blood throughout your body. If a person goes by a good diet then I don’t think they will have a problem being overweight, underweight, nor obese. Underweight means a person who weight is below that average weight of a person for example I’m in the army I’m 5’7 and weigh 130 lbs therefore I make weight however if I was 121 lbs or below I’d be considered underweight. Overweight is someone who is above the average of what people considered to be a desirable weight, obese is some who is really overweight If a person is overweight or obese they have the chance of having stroke, getting diabetes or even heart disease, heart failure because unhealthy foods can build up in the arteries and cause them to clog up and therefore cause really bad health problems. Being underweight means a person need to eat more protein and nutritious food and a person can be depressed, heart problems (yes even if your underweight) and brittle bones. Being underweight your increase your chances of having fractures and it also can cause fertility issues in both men and women. Having a high body fat percentage can cause individual to have a greater risk for developing high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and certain cancers. Being overweight can cause death because of the different health issues like cardiovascular disease and different types of cancer.
