Just like any other society Canada’s residents make up a gendered society where there is always a separation made between males and females, where males monopolize politics, and where male activities are considered more noteworthy (Fleras, 2012, p. 155 & 156). Females on the other hand are often expected to take on maternal and parental roles, however this is often seen as work that is not important (Fleras, 2012, p. 155 & 156). These expectations compounded with the fact that females have constantly been denied rights in the past and even today makes it clear that being a female is extremely difficult. These individuals who decide to transition into their true self are faced with multiple barriers especially individuals who have transitioned into females. Legally no organization in Canada is orientation. That being said this legislation does not stop interviewers or hiring professionals from giving employment to those that they choose as right for the position. This bias commonly attributed to beth the hiring individuals own bias and thee bias that customers or other workers may have. This struggle for work that Transgender females face is extremely difficult, therefore even in Canada and in other places in the world transgender females are having to sell sex to make money.
