The toxic leadership in an organization is considered to be the focus of adverse outcomes. The leader spreads negative behavior and decreases motivation for the organization.
Toxic leaders manifest negative behavior and promotes problems in the workplace. This is the bad side of workplace behavior. The toxic leadership comes in the workplace by means of self-centered attitudes, motivation and behavior. This has impact on the organization subordinates, and mission performance. A toxic leader will have a profound effect on the objectives of the organization. Distorting the mission and the objective will have long and short effect on the organization. Weeding out the psychological, emotional and physical destruction of the toxic leader can sometimes be difficult. To counteract this type of behavior will require more than getting rid of the toxic leader. Depending on the degree and the intensive nature of this behavior it could be very difficult to get rid of. …show more content…

Having to endure this type of leader will only make a toxic environment. Trying to make the senior members aware of this type work environment is very difficult. The armed forces are structured solely based on the chain of command. All complaints and suggestion have to go through a certain procedural to get to the top. This makes it very difficult to weed out the toxic leader.
Todays organizations are trying to stay ahead of the toxic environment and the toxic leadership. This becoming more of a challenge because, some level of toxic behavior is already in the organization. Now the challenge switches from offense to defense. This behavior can be credited to success or failure. At some levels of toxic leadership the most destructive activities are sometime hidden by upper-level management. At this point the questions shift from weeding out the toxic behavior to survival.
