Ask me who my favorite musical artist is, and I would say “Tori Kelly” in a heartbeat. Her music and her amazing personality are an inspiration in my life. I feel as though in today’s society, artists can portray the wrong ideas to people my age. But, Kelly is always true to herself and the lyrics in her songs speak my mind. I think that speaking truthfully and inspiring her fans, is her goal in music. Tori Kelly is a respectable artist because she shows young women about having confidence in themselves. Her powerful sound and pure lyrics explain to the audience that it is okay for them to be themselves. Kelly talks about her struggles with boys, independence, and strength, and her music is a great piece of empowerment for all young women. Kelly is a young artist who shares the struggles she has had while learning about who she is. In many of her live performances, she will open up with the song “Where I Belong”.
