For this task to be evaluated, the reader needs to understand the history of hieroglyphics and cuneiform writing, and the similarities and differences between them. This will also evaluate the limitations through thorough examination of the influences of cuneiform writing on hieroglyphics. The author Nancy Stockdale is an associate professor in history at the University of North Texas. The purpose of the journal is to inform the public about cuneiform writing and the impact that cuneiform had on world history. A value of this source is that it provided the public a unique perspective on the use of cuneiform writing. It allowed the public to understand not only how cuneiform writing was used, but who it was used by within the structure of the civilization. Another value this source it that it provides the regions in which cuneiform writing was used and the speed in which the form of writing spread. A limitation of this source is that the source did not provide a strong time frame in which cuneiform writing was used and developed; the source only provided loose estimates for each specific event. Another limitation was that this was not a primary source, so the method in which cuneiform writing was used is a theory and does not stand by itself. Another limitation that was present within the source is that the source did not fully evaluate each reason in which cuneiform writing was used. The source only introduced why it was used, but did not go in depth on the use of this language.
