In my English Class we have talked about what the American Identity is. We have came up with that you need to be a trusting citizen of the united states. In the united states we don’t care what your race is as long as you are legal to be in the united states. In the united states we are nice, caring, and trustworthy people. We do have some states that are not the greatest but most of the people are pretty nice. Some people can surprise you by their personalities or opinions on things. In some ways people can just be plain out rude but you have those people that can bring you up when you fall. These people would go once a month into the middle of the small town. There would be a big black box. The people of the town would go by families and grab a small worn out sheet, from out of the box. They go up one by one in order by families. Only the males would go up and grab a worn white sheet out of the box. If the family had kids that were old enough to draw the boys would go up and draw for their families. In my opinion to me this was going really good so far. When they started drawing for the lottery I’m like that's weird? Why were only the men going up to the drawing? I’m like that must just be there tradition for their lottery. As they drew by families they couldn’t look at the paper most of the families would cletch there fist and walk by slowly to their families. I’m thinking that’s a bit odd why don’t they just open them. When the ending came it was just like a cliffhanger. I’m like that’s it, nothing else happens, like are serious!?
