Going into my junior year of high school, I decided to get out of my comfort zone, so for one of my electives, I had chosen theatre class. Coming into theater class on the first day of school, the atmosphere seemed really nice. None of the students knew who the teacher was because she was new and had just moved to Arkansas from New York. The first day in Theatre class was going fine, we went around the room and everyone introduced themselves. Fast forward to the middle of the semester Mrs. Reed, the theater teacher was getting ready to put on a production. She was so focused on the production that she didn’t assign work for her actual classes that she taught. So I took it upon myself to walk next-door to the choir room and practice my music for an upcoming concert that we had. On the next morning of school, I arrived at my first-period class which was English. I was sitting there doing work and then the next thing I heard was the intercom coming on and someone asking for me to report to the office. When I got to the office I see Ms. Jone, so I asked her “Why did I need to come to the office?” She told me it was because of Mrs .Reed wrote me up on a referral for leaving the classroom without permission. So I explained to Mrs. Jones and told her what had really happened. Then Ms. Jones asked me to hold my hand and she smacked my hand and told me to go back to class.
