“Pow!” shellings and canyons being fired. I was awoken by an unpleasant sound. Little Susan was arise and shine early to go get some crops. We both did our daily routine of praying for our parents are in good health in heaven. I walked out with full of glee on my face to see a gourmet breakfast. Seeing dried fruits and vegetables come in season were my favorite. On the other hand, had some news Susan might not be happy about. I asked Susan to come to the dining room. I told her that I was going to join the war. She was confused because only men are supposed to fight in the war, no women were allowed. “I don’t care what the rules are, there should be equality in fighting, and I wanna end slavery,” I spoke proudly. “But Barbara, I’m worried about you, you’re gonna get I notice something looking so familiar. “I swear those eyes are my father’s, but father is dead,” I whisper under my breath. As we get closer and wait for the battle to begin, I try to get a closer look. “Oh no, it’s Graham, my beloved brother,” I gasped quietly. “Wait, how can this be?” I questioned myself. It hits me when Graham, Susan, and I immigrated here, Graham got separated from Susan and I. Man that felt so long ago. How could I forget. The battle began and shellings are being fired everywhere. I tried to make eye contact with Graham and he tries to shoot me! “What is he thinking?!” I wondered. “Oh wait, I totally forgot he doesn’t know that I’m fighting in this battle with him, man sometimes I’m so ignorant,” I addressed. As the battle continued, I couldn’t stop staring at Graham. He doesn’t seem to recognize me. If I tried to talk to him, we both have a chance of dying. I’m not gonna let Susan down. I must fight for Susan, our parents, women’s rights, and even Graham. A guy shot Graham and he's dead, sadly. I’m pretty depressed, but I understand we weren’t gonna meet somehow. The battle ended and I immediately hurry home to tell Susan
