The Titanic was built on March, 13, 1909. It was built to be the biggest and fastest vessel made. The Titanic was known for its luxurious first class lounges and dining halls. The Titanic was one of the the three ‘Olympic Class liners’. Built with its two sister ships, Britannic and Olympic, by the White Star Line and Thomas Andrews, the Titanic was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard. After about three years of work, Titanic was finished on March 31,1911. The ship was ready to set sail on its maiden voyage to New York.(Encyclopaedia Britannica)

. Frederick Fleet and Reginald Lee were looking out in the dark Night. They hadn’t been given a pair of binoculars to watch for Icebergs so they couldn't see so well . They saw an Iceberg coming in sight. They rang the warning bell and telephoned the ship's Bridge . The ship's engine was quickly reversed and they made a sharp turn trying to stop from direct impact. The Iceberg grazed the side of the titanic and Ice flew onto the deck of titanic. At first they thought that the collision didn’t impact the titanic. Captain Roston ordered the engine to be stopped to search for survives. A flare from one of the lifeboats coughs the attention of the crew. They saved more then 700 survivors and pulled out 300 dead bodies by 8:30 am After the sinking of the titanic sunk many survivors and family members of the disease filed lawsuits claiming 13 to 16 million dollars. However, the shipping company that operated the Titanic claimed that there was a clause within the passenger tickets which absolve them of liability. On december 17th ,1915 agreed to settle at a sum of $664,000 to share to all the family and survivors of the titanic.
Since then many laws have been changed so that sea travel would be safer. In 1914 and international Iceberg Patrol was formed with a convention called International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.The iceberg patrol was formed to monitor the seas for Icebergs that could cause ships to become damaged or sink.
