Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein, is a novel filled with mystery, romantic, and many themes. One of the most repeated themes throughout the novel is the relationship between God and Man. Shelley does this to show the relationship between Victor and the creature. Victor and the creature’s relationship is full of tension and a few miscommunications. Soon after being created by Victor, all his creature wanted was to be loved and please his creator (68). The creature had traveled around and saw what human kind was like. He saw that people would never accept him because of his appearance. He thought that surely his own creator would accept him, but just like everyone else his own creator was horrified by the creature’s appearance. Throughout

The theme of creation in "Frankenstein" touches on the notion of how modern science plays God. This is illustrated through the attempt of replicating a human by means of science, using the main character Victor as the god-figure. Unfortunately, Victor Frankenstein did not consider the effect his creation would have on the outside world and, more importantly, his internal self and his creation.

The monster relates to Satan, Adam, and Eve. Victor quotes, "You may render me the most miserable of men, but you shall never make me base in my own eyes," this is when the monster asks for a companion, Victor refuses. The monster also shows that he will go to any extent to be happy and complete vengeance when he goes on a murder spree.
Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein" narrates a story about a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, and his creation of a monster set apart from all worldly creatures. She turned it around, and changed it from what you would usually predict from a story of a monster. Instead of persecuting the creature, she switched the story around to target Victor as the monster in the story.

In Frankenstein, Shelley creates two very complex characters. They embody the moral dilemmas that arise from the corruption and disturbance of the natural order of the world. When Victor Frankenstein is attending school, he becomes infatuated with creating a living being and starts stealing body parts from morgues around the university. After many months of hard work, he finishes one stormy night bringing his creation to life. However, “now that [Victor] had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled [his] heart” (Chambers). Right after Victor realizes what he has done, he falls into deep depression and must be nursed back to health by his friend. Victor spends the rest of the story facing consequences and moral problems from creating unnatural life.
