The Pact

There is not much that separates our kind from lower species of life. Our intellect, communication skills and opposable thumbs are a few of the many advantages to being a human. Human’s ability to construct a deep and rewarding lifelong friendship is no less incredible than any of the previously mentioned traits. These friendships are an integral part of our lives each and everyday, and friendships that last can certainly help lead to ones success later on in life. I have had many very close friends in my life and they all have helped me in their own way. Their strengths and abilities have immensely helped me in areas that might otherwise be weaknesses. In The Pact, three youths relied on each other’s guidance and strengths just as I do in my everyday life. Through perseverance and hard work the three of them reached their ultimate goal of becoming doctors, but I contend that if they had not stuck together none of them would have made it. ... Throughout The Pact, there are many tough times that each of the characters goes through. Whenever one of these times hits the victim always had his two friends to fall back. Whether it is after gang related activity or failing a medical exam, his friends were always there. Having this knowledge of loyalty was, I am sure, a great comfort to each when they were going through their tough time.

Friendship is truly what separates us from the animals. Each true friend you find is truly a blessing and should be treated as such. Although we lived in different environments the boys from The Pact and I have learned and cherished this life lesson. Through tight friendship and perseverance one can achieve anything they set out to in life. Hopefully, my friends and I can take the examples set forth in The Pact and follow them all the way to success in our respective lives.
