“The Office” is now more than “The Office” I have never thought in a million years that I would be able to apply a lesson to a television show regarding any sort of topic. It is actually quite amazing that we as humans are instinctively very social creatures learning about the communications we as humans use on a day to day basis and how it affects us. A lot of people do not really understand we have our own communicative language until they start to delve into this class, like myself. These concepts are strongly present in educational environments, employment facilities , and in everyday interpersonal relationships (i.e family life). There have definitely been times in the workplace where I have personally experienced people that were of the same position as I was ,use secondary tension on not only myself but on other employees as well.
They were extremely pompous, arrogant, and always assuming that they were the best no matter how bad of a job they were doing. No matter the situation, they would always try to seek power over myself and other employees. He wouldn't let off of it at all. It took the manager of the job I was working at to directly call him out in front of every employee including myself to simply inform him that he wasn’t as great as he thought he was. We as a society, myself included, have been conditioned to have affection need regarding superiors; especially when we are a job prospect. We are quick to say our pleases, thanks, and show our manners when we are a job candidate to the employer. I have also experienced first hand issues with my affection need with my family as I didn't really get tons of affection from my family. I was mainly raised strict and set to a high expectation. The communicative concepts mentioned in this essay: common goals , affection need, and secondary tension are definitely present behaviors in human behavior today.
Whether a person is in a school, facility, or in their own home; they will come across these three communication concepts. Concluding that, communication concepts are not just an irrelevant term for a bunch of humanistic behaviors but that we as humans really do communicate in ways that are very unique and should be
