Assassination is the murder of somebody due to their political or religious affilliation. Martin Luther King was assassinated. Martin wanted peace and didn’t use any type of violence. great leader. And Last he gave african americans equal rights. MLK’s assassination was unjust because he was a great leader during segregation and was trying to bring positivity to the world; However, some believed he was negative because of his race. First, Martin was nonviolent. Even though white people used violence Martin said to turn the other cheek. He got african americans where they are today. Some people might say that Martin didn’t give african americans equal rights but he did. For example, the text states “ In 1983 Congress voted to observe the third Monday in January as a federal legal holiday in honor of his birthday; his Atlanta birthplace and gravesite were made a national historic site. The Lorraine Motel, where King was shot, was made the National Civil Rights Museum in 1991. In 2011, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial opened on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. After her husband’s death, Coretta Scott King, a civil rights activist in her own right, continued to advocate his vision of racial peace and nonviolent social change until her death on Jan. 31, 2006.” This piece of evidence is showing that african americans came a long way from segregation. And Martin Luther King was a big part of that. That is my final reason about why I think the assassination of Martin Luther King was unjust. MLK’s assassination was unjust because he was a great leader during segregation and was trying to bring positivity to the world; However, some believed he was negative because of his race. For the people that think he wasn’t a great leader, nonviolence or didn’t give african americans equal rights, I just gave you evidence of why Martin Luther King’s assassination was unjust.
