The NBA is a career where players can be paid millions of dollars playing the sport they love. There are many aspects of the NBA. To begin, practice time is super key. A player would need to practice hard, and practice almost everyday. NBA players have practices called walkthroughs. These are just when players want to go to a practice but it's not an actual official practice. Another responsibility they have is to never give up. Even if it seems as if they are failing all the time, they must not give up. They have to just practice harder and become better than they were once before. They are not allowed to quit and give up on their career. Not only are they not allowed to give up, but they have to show effort on the court. If they just mess around during practice and then do terrible in games, they aren't showing enough effort. They are acting like they don't want it enough. Also, keeping important team business to themselves is something they need to do. Even though this may sound easy, it's actually quite difficult. This is because almost every NBA player is involved with very large amounts of social media followers. A super important responsibility is making injuries public. The coaches of the teams do not want any of their players playing with an injured limb. So revealing an injury to the public can relieve the chance of the injury becoming even more severe. Most of the large league players started playing in grade school, or younger. Also, being a star on a high school basketball team is a super key point of making it to the NBA. So to be a large star on the basketball team in high school, they must be committed. They need to keep their grades up and play with all their effort on the court. The players will also have to avoid the drugs and other negative influences to stay focused on their possible basketball career. Middle schoolers could also do this by practicing basketball and getting better everyday to get ready for high school
