“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a gift and not giving it.” This quote by William Arthur Ward, one of America’s most quoted writers, shows just how important it is to be thankful for everything you have, no matter how small it may seem. There are many things in life to be thankful for, but I feel that three of these things, which are grandparents, food, and the country America (if you reside in it), are some of the most important to give thanks to. Grandparents are a parent of one’s father or father, hence the name “Grand-Parent.” These members of the family are the highest ranking in the family hierarchy, but this does not stop them from being easygoing or fun to be around. Grandparents do so much for us, and if you do not already express your gratitude towards them, you should thank them for what they do for you and the entire family every day. No matter how silly this may seem, food is very important to be thankful for, as America is one of the few countries that has a steady supply of food. Some countries, like Zimbabwe or Guinea, have rapidly dwindling food supplies, and their people usually have to eat whatever they can find, whether they enjoy its taste or not. However, America has no shortage of food, rather an overflow of it, and some people do not realize just how lucky they to have enough food to thrive. There is a great variety of food to enjoy in America, and each person enjoys a different kind. My personal favorite is Salmon Teriyaki, a type of meal commonly found in Japanese restaurants like the Zen Sushi we have just down the street. Food is necessary to survive, and people take it for granted every day, so we should realize just how much it means to have food and express our gratitude towards those who supply
