The Loch Ness monster is a cryptid – a creature whose existence has been suggested but is not recognized by scientific concepts (“Loch”). The creature is an animal or a group of animals and most records of the creature’s appearances including verifiable accounts indicating an animal taking after or resembling the long wiped out plesiosaur (“Loch”). Although many people have theories about Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, almost all evidence shows that “Nessie” has been mistaken for various creatures that live in the Loch, a body of water in Scotland.
Described by various authors “Nessie” is a supernatural creature capable of appearing and vanishing at its own will (Newton 91). Nessie appears as a large rounded object, an overturned boat with several protruding lumps in a line anywhere from ten to forty five feet long. Although Nessie is mostly seen as a grayish color, many claim Nessie to have multiple colors such as: black, gray, brown or a sandy color. Nessie varies from long …show more content…

One man name Skipper George Edwards, a tourist, had been searching for a little over twenty six years and says “Nessie” looks like a manatee but definitely not a mammal (“Mackal”). The earliest known sighting was in 565 AD; St. Columbia saved a life of a pict who was being attacked by the “monster” (“Loch”). Also an early modern sighting in 1933 of March, a man named John Mackay and his wife spotted movements in the water (Eberhart 375-376). There has also been many photographs taken of this monster, but the pictures shown are believed to be a hoax or anything other than the real monster. Actual fossil evidence for this creature shows it to have been, large with a long neck, and a very tiny head, with flippers for proportion (“Loch”). In July 1st of 2013, an Italian geologist had claimed that sightings of Nessie, in the Lochs, are simply a result of bubbles caused by geological forces
