How to Write a Satirical Essay
Writing a satirical essay is a state required sick joke on the underslept and emotionally disturbed english students of america, unless you enjoy the overwhelming amount of stress and buckets of tears you will lose writing one of these things. I am one of those people who thoroughly enjoy writing satirical essays so much, that I’ve learned to put them off until the very last minute possible just so I can savor the satisfaction I get from losing sleep typing up one of these bad boys at three in the morning on a tuesday night in the ever loved MLA formating. This type of essay has the best and most specific guidelines of any essay you will ever write and let me tell you it is a dreamboat.
Before you start the wonderful journey of writing one of these magical essays, you must look at that specific rubric your gracious teacher has given you and figure out a topic that you would want to write about for the required minimum of two pages (although between you and me, we both know by the end of this essay, you’ll love writing it so

Many people tend to use humor as a positive communication skill to make us laugh. It has long been used as a tool to navigate how we better understand media and politics. In today's crucial times of political chaos, social unrest and in-fighting between political parties, the use of Satire humor is more relevant than ever before. According to Oxford dictionary, satire is defined as the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. In the last decade there has been a staunch increase in technology and a rise in social media, this comes with its own benefits and downfalls. The use of satire humor has been represented
Per Reporter: On 5/6/18, Tiara disclosed to Talesha (family friend) that her father (William) touched her at the age of 3 or 4. Initially, Tiara was afraid to tell Linda; however, Talesha encouraged her to do so. Tiara informed Linda of the allegations, a week later she changed her story stating “No”, but then after she confirmed it by saying “yes.” Linda and William are divorced; Linda has full custody and William has visitation rights. William arrived at the family’s home5/6/18 to visit with Tiara. Angry, Linda told Talesha to tell Satan to get out of her driveway. Tiara informed Linda that she wanted to see William; Linda allowed her to do so. On 5/13/18, Tiara demonstrated with Linda about the incident. Linda pretended to be William while
When writing an essay, I begin by understanding the genre or the purpose of the writing assignment and knowing who will read my essay. Brainstorming and organizing all the details, ideas, and adding examples come next. I gather my evidence from my own personal experiences, from the experiences of those who are close to me, and from trusted sources, like books, journals,
According to Everything’s an Argument by Andrea A. Lunsford and John J. Ruszkiewicz, “Humor has always played an important role in argument…” (38). Humor itself is something that activates amusement or laughter. Moreover, in popular culture satire is a tool that is used to point out things in our society. Satire opens the minds of people to philosophies they might completely deny, using humor. There are many elements of satire that identify flaws within our society. A couple of satire elements that will be discussed are irony and exaggeration. In addition, a parody is used in popular culture as a way to mock or mimic situation or person.
At the latest press conference held by Apple, the new groundbreaking innovation for the iPhone 6 was finally revealed to the public. After years of mingling about in the barbarian state of face-to-face conversation, society is finally being introduced with the ability to eliminate the middle-man, and communicate solely through the use of their smart phone. The feature is called Siri-Speech, which helps envelop the user in the dissociation that is accompanied by using machines to fill the void once occupied by primitive speech. The user only needs to type a text they would like the individuals near them to hear, and the application will read the text aloud. This awe-inspiring feature will help eliminate the need for crude functions like conversation and eye contact.
When I am assigned to write an essay, the first thing I do is panic. I panic because I always seem to run into the same problems with my writing process. I have no central idea. I have no clue what I actually want to write about. When I was younger, I always started by making a web or an outline because thats what my teachers encouraged me to do in school, but I don’t do that anymore. Now I sit in front of my laptop, I take a deep breath, close my eyes, gather my thoughts, and type. I just let my thoughts flow onto the page. When I don’t feel the pressure of writing to an audience, my writing is completely different than it is when I am writing something that I know my professor or peers will read. As I am writing this exact sentence, I don’t quite know where I am going with it. My writing process is unorthodox and unorganized, but it is what I do everytime. When I stop trying to follow the linear model of writing, explained by Nancy Sommers as the process of forming an idea, writing about it, then revising afterwards, I feel that I am more capable of discovering something meaningful within my words. When I am forced to write a thesis statement and base my paper solely on it, it doesn’t come out as good as I think it should. It decreases the potential for my ideas to grow and discoveries to be made. It limits me to a single statement and narrows my thoughts, preventing me from discovery.
When using satire your argument becomes witty and entertaining. By adding in sarcasm, irony, and other things using this element of writing can drive home the point you are trying to make or it may completely fly over the heads of your audience. Satire paints a picture of your argument rather than just stating facts; it allows your audience, to feel more connected to your side of the argument.
Marilyn Monroe once said, “...it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” This applies to my life in pretty much everything I do, because I would much rather have people notice me (even if they don’t like what they see) than be just another face in the crowd. Even if someone hates me, at least it means that they respect me enough to see that there’s something worth hating. It’s much easier to enjoy life when I’m not trying far too hard not to seem ridiculous.
Being able to write efficiently is really important for any persons who consider themself such as a writer. Writing essays aren't easy, and while books help to improve writing they will not do much for essay writing. I always had a passion for writing but I don't consider myself a very good writer. I really started writing when I was in high school. I had no talent for writing but I had a willingness to grow and surprise some teachers that I loved. My two last years of high school, I was very lucky to have some very extraordinary teachers whom help me a lot with my writing. I loved to read and write and gradually they allowed me to have a special relationship with them, extremely enriching exchanges, not only from a cognitive point of view but also in human terms. In this essay I will give the reasons why I don’t think I am a writer.
Throughout the whole semester, the variety of processes helped me better my writing. When I first began writing each of my essays, I would do research that related to the topic I had chosen. I would read through the article I had chosen to see if it had enough evidence to support my topic. Once I was done with all my research it became less complicated for me to begin my essay. Even though I had my ideas on how to write the essay,
When it comes to writing, people have different techniques on how to start writing, how to organize the aesthetics of the text, or how to brainstorm. Along with those techniques, we also have to consider the type of writing the essay will be about, because different approaches are used on different topics. Brainstorming about the topic, then typing and letting my ideas flow to build sentences and paragraphs, then revising and editing are steps I take in my writing process.
The author’s critical argument in this essay is that a student is first taught how to write a standard essay in school. The style of the essay and the requirements change over time and so does what is needed for the essay. Then when it comes to high school and college students composing a paper for college it is mostly used for entertainment

I had been waiting for an essay to be assigned to us. But, by the second or third week, we had not got an assignment. A month passes by and we finally got our first assignment that I had been dreading. It was for an essay. I was nervous because I had not wrote a paper in thirteen years. I didn’t even know where to start when it came to writing an essay. But with the help of a very good friend and my English 98 teacher, Dr. Evans, they showed me that I could do it and how not to stress over an essay.
I have learned many things throughout the course of the term, including such things as: how to write an essay and how to improve on essays that I have already written, how to locate and composite better research through the use of numerous resources found at the campus library, the internet, and the “Common Sense” textbook, how to cite research, examples, and quotations properly within the contents of my research paper as well as document it accurately according to MLA standards. Through the exploration of the “Subjects and Strategies” textbook, I have learned nine different methods used when writing an effective essay and how the different writing styles affect the overall theme and tone of the essay when used properly. This past semester, I have encountered many difficulties when trying to write these essays, but through the use of the textbooks, the aide of the instructor, and once I was able to classify the different types of essays and styles, I found them possible to overcome.
