Non-verbal communication can send a variety of messages that give or draw a huge impact when used in a public or private sector. The importance of understanding non-verbal communication can be the key to enhancing the overall performance of the administration, which includes the CEO, managers, and workers.
The coaching model can be a great example of non-verbal communication. The way you dress, speak words, use gestures, handle utensils, exhibit facial expressions, and set the physical distance to the receiver are just some of the many forms of nonverbal communication. Communication and culture bound are tightly intertwined. Your parents, and other people to whom you associate teach non-verbal communication. Some of the other behaviors are very common in society. Studies show that most people smile when they are happy and frown when they are sad. However, most nonverbal queues show to be disconnected from commonly used verbal queues. Gestures that are accepted in one culture (like the thumbs-up gesture) may be seen as inappropriate in another culture. In communicating within multi-cultural atmospheres, it is important to remember that expressions and gestures will have different meanings. Proactively performing research about current cultures will help the receive and hearer to understand nonverbal communications.
