The Importance Of My Goals

Over the course of a college student’s time at a University, they set goals for themselves to fulfill by the end of their journey. These goals can not only have a deadline set at the end of their undergraduate years, but can overlap into their masters programs or even their doctorate programs. These goals may include having a GPA goal, which degrees you will have earned in an allotted time, and so on. My goals at the end of my time here at the California State University, Northridge is to start my year by moving on from this semester with at least a 3.2 GPA in order to acquire some merit-based scholarships. goals for themselves. By the acronym, he meant that the goals needed to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-sensitive. It’s important to give oneself a deadline to create the feeling of importance. By setting specific and individualized objectives, it’s much easier for one to focus on it and succeed with flying colors. This is exactly what I am doing with my current goal: finish off the second semester of my first year of my ongoing college career with a 3.2 grade point average and above. This allows me to focus all my attention on completing this somewhat simplistic task. However, I’ve come to realize that while it is important to look at the task at hand, one must also prepare for the near future. However, I do plan to take my plan further and not just stop with that objective. I would like to utilize my degree in ways that I could help myself while helping others. It’s not only important to start with having high marks in your classes, but to also end with exceptional grades as well. During my time in high school, I was pushed not only by teachers, family, or friends to perform to my best ability and to work to the fullest. I was motivated by myself and worked to be as efficient as possible when faced with a seemingly difficult task. I’ve learned that it’s important to utilize skills that one learns through experience, lest it be forgotten in a time of need. If I never learned how to produce such goals for myself, I would not be as motivated to push myself harder and harder as I am now.
