Human resource management refers to the processes and practices of handling and managing people i.e. the human resource within the organization usually by the management personnel so that the organization may be able to meets its set objectives.. Human Resource management (HRM) is therefore a system that not only focuses on management of human resource but also on the development of human resource. Organizational performance involves the comparison of an organization actual results against its set objectives, goals, targets, mission and vision in regards to its financial performance, shareholder value and lastly on it market performance. In the hospitality business, performance management is attributed to the fact that a hierarchy of authority exists and each staff is delegated with specific tasks hence this facilitates performance assessment within the different departments and entire organizations. Hilton Hotel has been successful as it has come up with the effective HRM strategies which include outlining the desired code of conduct expected and allowing its personnel to identify areas that need improvement in the implementation of these strategies. It ensures that their personnel are equipped with the right skills by offering training, counseling activities and it has an effective performance appraisal system which facilitates the successful implementation of strategies (Gehrels and Suleri, 2016). It is also important to note that the personnel at the Hilton Hotel are required to actively participate in their delegated duties with the aid of operating systems which results in good performance management. HRM strategies should be designed in alignment with clear achievable principles according to Madera et al. (2017) while Gehrel and Suleri (2016 ) emphasis that HRM strategies should be based on repetitive and clear communications amongst staff.
