Recommended: Define the importance of accountability

Accountability, as defined by the merriam-websters dictionary, is the quality or state of being accountable. This leads us to ask the question, what does it mean to be accountable. To be accountable is to be responsible. We are held accountable if we don’t do homework in school or if we do something we know we shouldn’t be doing. There’s always an after effect to what we do. All people are held accountable for themselves, for others and what other’s trust them with.
You are held accountable for your actions. There is always a consequence to everything you do. If you rob a bank you are held accountable and face the consequences. If you volunteer to perform a good act you held accountable and deal with the consequences. Accountability can …show more content…

If you see your friends messing up or falling to the temptations of the devil you must stop them or help them.. The Bible says in Galatians 6: 1-5 (ESV), “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load.” You have to support them and encourage them to do the right thing. We are held accountable for letting them sin we must support our brothers and they should be able to trust us. If someone was to trust you with a secret, they expect you to not tell their story and not to judge them. You are now responsible, accountable, for their secret. You must be a good example for them and you both should be able to boost each other and make each other better. According to Proverbs 27:17 (ESV), “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” You shouldn’t laugh or tease them about their secret, or go out and spread their news.
