The Hunt for Red October is an action film based off of the novel written by Tom Clancy. The main characters include Marko Ramius (Sean Connery), Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin), Bart Mancuso (Scott Glenn), Admiral Greer (James Earl Jones), Captain Vasili Borodin (Sam Neill). The film was directed by John McTiernan, some of his other popular works you may know include, Die Hard, and Predator. The screenplay was written by Larry ferguson and his partner Donald Stewart. Everything flows well and makes sense. It all seems so realistic, like this type of thing really could happen between American and Russia. The lying between the Russian ambassador and the head of the CIA makes it seem realistic, you know that happens in real life. Countries lie for their advantage all the time. The plot to me seemed so well-structured due to the fact of how it all flowed together. Everything made sense, and lined up perfectly. Everything the characters brought up or talked about was well described to the viewer. For example, Captain Ramius explained in depth why he wanted to effect, as well as his main officer Borodin. The director kept the movie moving and intense. It left you on the edge of your seat a lot. I liked how right when you and the characters begin to take a deep breath and relax, something happens that gets it intense again. You never could relax because there was so much action going on.
