Everything flows well and makes sense. It all seems so realistic, like this type of thing really could happen between American and Russia. The lying between the Russian ambassador and the head of the CIA makes it seem realistic, you know that happens in real life. Countries lie for their advantage all the time. The plot to me seemed so well-structured due to the fact of how it all flowed together. Everything made sense, and lined up perfectly. Everything the characters brought up or talked about was well described to the viewer. For example, Captain Ramius explained in depth why he wanted to effect, as well as his main officer Borodin. The director kept the movie moving and intense. It left you on the edge of your seat a lot. I liked how right when you and the characters begin to take a deep breath and relax, something happens that gets it intense again. You never could relax because there was so much action going on. The sound effect and the underscoring also contributed to the intensity. The hard beats when a torpedo was coming in, or the Russian national
“Saving Private Ryan” is set during World War II; however, it still greatly affects our current society through helping people understand how bad war really is.
Former U.S. President Richard Nixon once said, “Communism is never sleeping; it is, as always, plotting, scheming, working, fighting.” From 1919 – 1921, a hysteria over the perceived threat of communism spread like wildfire across the nation. Known as the First Red Scare, the widespread fear of Bolshevism and anarchism quickly invaded the infrastructure of the U.S. government and radically influenced the American people. American citizens, such as Sacco and Vanzetti, were convicted and found crimes that evidence showed otherwise only because they supported anarchism. The US government arrested and deported radicals only because of their political standing. Although The First Red Scare may have begun as a cultural movement, private business owners actually catalyzed and facilitated the wide spread hysteria over communism.
Tom Clancy's "The Hunt for Red October" is a thriller that goes into the life of a Soviet submarine captain who lost his wife to a drunken Russian surgeon. This tragic case of negligence was ignored because the surgeon was the son of a communist party high official. The loss of his wife has caused Captain Marko Radius’s hatred of the corrupt U.S.S.R. for years. But now, Ramius has the chance to take action. Captain Ramius has been given command of the newest Soviet prototype sub, the Typhoon-class missile submarine. When the Americans are given photographs of it, they are extremely curious as to why it is so special. Jac...
Analysis of Film Saving Private Ryan Saving Private Ryan is a film based on the horrific mission of a group. of soldiers who risked life and death to save one man private James. Ryan. The film begins on D-day when Private James Ryan is in an old war. Veteran visits the war memorial of his hero and the main character in the play Captain John Miller, played by Tom Hanks.
This movie was beautifully produced. I don’t believe another director could have done as good of a job as Luis Puenzo did. I believe Puenzo was able to bring this story to life and allow us to be able to really relate to each character intricately because he lived through the uncertainty and witnessed the agony faced by many, and he made all of the emotions real through this work. I also believe that having actors and actresses that lived through the experience was an excellent move.
Overall, the score was beautiful and appropriate, adding suspense and mystery at all the right times. The sound effects added psychological flavor to the story without drawing too much attention to it.
Captain Miller is assigned the difficult task of finding Private Ryan who is missing along with most of his troop, which was divided after an attack. The reason for the mission is because Private Ryan’s three brothers had just died in the war. Private Ryan is to be sent home immediately. The rest of the events that unfold entail tragedies and accomplishments that lead to Captain Miller’s final command.

It did so in a unique way that was different from any other film we have watched in class, but it was still very effective. By giving the audience so many theories, believes and stories in the beginning of the movie, the audience had no choice but to trust the narrator to tell them what is true or not. For me, I initially had no trust in the narrator and his stories, but by the end of the film he had convinced me to trust him and anything he said, something I never thought possible in the beginning of the film. I also thought the film visuals were very appropriate and helped to add a feeling and tone of mystery and intrigue, perfect for this film. I thought the visuals perfectly matched the narration and story
Throughout the years most country's governments have established some sort of secret police. No matter what the government called it, whether it is the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or her Majesty's secret service (MI6), whatever name the government used, the international term of "secret police" could always be applied. Many agencies of secret police have had their success and failures, some more than others. The KGB, which in English means "the Committee of Public Safety," has had their share of both successes and failures. Most secret police agencies have been used primarily to obtain information from other countries. This was also a primary goal for the KGB, but one of their other goals, which was just as important, was to keep unwanted outside information from the Russian people. This was only one out of many the KGB's objectives. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to prove that the actions of the KGB were, all in all, a success.
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
...impossible to find myself anywhere but sitting on the edge of my seat. It was difficult to predict what would come next, constant suspense was all around. Thus, making the situations portrayed more interesting and entertaining to the viewer of the film.
...movie that I fell in love with. But most of all I love how the story line is a great overlap into the cinematically engaging movie. There is a great use of camera, timing, shots and story line that are portrayed in this movie without being too overwhelming. This allows the audience to relax during the movie and just take in the scenes as a story from reality. To this day, and even still doing this paper I still come to find different aspects of the movie that I missed the previous times I have watched it.
Director Peter Berg based this movie off of Marcus luttrell the survivor of Operation Red Wings. This powerful war film features actor Mark Walberg who portrays the real life situation of Marcus Lutrell. The movie is centered on patriotism and the struggles that the soldiers faced. Peter Berg displays the mental and physical suffering that soldiers go through during battle. The film begins with troops training preforming exercises, drills, and tests that regular individuals could not imagine. The beginning of the film is an important part in setting the tone that is seen throughout the movie. The producer sets the film up in a realistic manner that showcases morality, brotherhood, and honor.
