If food is the joy of the body, so perfumes are the pleasure of soul. Perfumes have a special place in Muslims hearts, and Prophet Mohammed – PBUH- said: " from this world I had loved women and perfumes, and Praying was the apple of my eye".Muslims have put on perfumes taking their Prophet as a role model. So the industry of perfumes had spread widely in the Islamic world, more than any nation has done before Islam.
The word perfume is used to describe scented mixtures and is derived from the Latin word, "per fumus," meaning through smoke.Perfume was further refined by the Romans, the Persians and the Arabs. Although perfume and perfumery also existed in East Asia, much of its fragrances are incense based.

Perfumes are created to have a three-part smell, which reveals after applying it on your skin. Top notes which you smell within the first 15 minutes, and it first evaporate off you. Heart notes reveal after 3-4 hours, and it evaporate more slowly. Base notes which stay on your skin for a long time. You can smell it within 5 -8 hours.
The main chemical materials in perfumes production include the following:
Terpenes. It's the biggest chemical group and usually used for treatment and healing processes from illness. These Terpenes include limonenewhich exists in 90% of citric oils, pinene which exists in pine trees, chamazulene which exists in chamomile essences.
Esters.Includes the plant oils, like linalyl acetate which exists in clary sage and lavender. It also includes geranyl acetate which exists in sweet marjoram. Esters has anti-fungal features and used as pain
