Everyone has a least one major event that they can remember right? For some it would be weddings, engagements, graduations, etc. For me, I would have to say the day I gave birth to my son. It was a windy Wednesday in November. It was November 13, 2013 to be exact. I entered Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana ready for one of the most exciting experiences in my life. The day I gave birth to my son changed my life completely. My life changing experience started with the preparation for the birth, giving birth, and after birth. The day I began to prepare for my son birth was so much fun. I went shopping for everything. I picked out his first outfit and also packed his baby sack. I was so excited, that I did not get any sleep. I cleaned the house with the help of family and friends to make sure the house was fresh and clean for the arrival of my baby boy. I did a last minute decoration for the nursery and put the baby bed together, which was very complicated, but I got it done. I washed all of his clothes and folded them. The entire process brought on so many emotions and changes from the preparation for the actual birth and even the afterbirth. I must admit it was all worth it. My son has been a big blessing to me and I am forever thankful. He changed my life in so many ways. He taught me that it was easy to know that life was no longer about me. He has pushed me to be a better person and continue to do so still. He is my reason and I will continue to strive for greatness and make him proud to call me mommy. Our bond is unbreakable! When I reflect back on the day I went I went into the hospital, the surgery, and everything that came after, I can smile knowing I put a star here to help lighten the world.
