For many years, it was seemingly impossible to tell in which direction the climate was headed. It was not unitil the year 1975 that highly sophisticaded computer models were predicting that the temperature would increase by roughly 5 degrees Fahrenheit or 2.8 degrees Celcius, many other professionals believed so as well. According to Tim Flannery, a well reknown author, the doubling in Carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere would lead to a drastic increase in global temperatures. "Air pollution is causing a hefty share of global warming" (Walker, Sally M., and Tim F. Flannery. We Are the Weather Makers: The History of Climate Change). Carbon dioxide can be produced py respiration or decomposition of organic matter. It is of vital importance to the Earth: it helps regulate the air and water temperatures of our planet. All plants use Carbon dioxide during a process called Photosynthesis: a process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize food from Carbon dioxide and water. Plants are of vital importance to our planet because they produce oxygen, which we need in order to survive. Although Carbon dioxide is of much importance to our planet as well, it is definately not a good thing for CO2 (Carbon dioxide) levels to be very high. When Carbon dioxide levels are too high, it can cause what is know as the Greenhouse
