First of all, this class has had some amazing reads over the last two weeks. Uniquely, it is one of a few classes you wish were longer than and five week requirement due to its enjoyment and interest. There is little doubt the best and most appealing story so far has been “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe. The main reason this story appeals to me is the plot, which is multidimensional is it revenge, getting away with the perfect murder, or a rich drunk narcissistic getting what he deserves. Furthermore, Poe masterfully uses the facet of irony throughout the story which I always find entertaining. For example, Fortunato and Montresor both have a meaning of wealth and fortune, but Fortunato which can also be interrupted as fortunate
