The case for optimism In Al Gore 's lecture called “ The case for optimism on climate change”, Gore talks about greenhouse gasses.Gore talks about what we have done to create more carbon emissions, and what to do to reduce them again. Gore starts of with facts, he states why we founded earth day, and why we need to preserve this Earth. Gores argument was very educational to because of the way he presented his argument. Gore did not just say we need to change or bad things will happen, but he told how we can change. He gave evidence that his plans to reduce emissions actually work. He does this by using simple language, he does not use big scientific words. He uses graphs to further show his facts. The word choices Gore uses is very easy to understand. He uses graphs that show the facts he is presenting but in a visually pleasing way. His tone throughout the whole lecture is very positive, he uses reassuring words, and gives hope that we as humans will change. He gives arguments that are well presented and very accurate, He does not give any bias opinions. Gore is also very credible because he always has where he got the information he uses in each of his slides, even if it is a picture someone took, he has the name of the person that took it. Gore starts out with some scary facts about how much we are effecting the environment. Gore then moves on to show how much we have changed to things that would reduce our carbon emissions. Gore uses the techniques to educate on how we can change to reduce our carbon emissions, and he shows how we can and we are changing for the better. Gore has mastered these techniques and more to be a better presenter and relay his message to the crowd, and he does this in a way that not only is understandable to everyone, but also helps them understand it better.
