Education Chairman Welcome As the Education Chairman, you are instrumental in creating a valuable and successful All-Member Experience within your chapter. The time and attention you put into planning and implementing relevant and engaging educational programs for members will make a significant impact. The All-Member Experience focuses on the education that occurs for all members during the time they are collegiate members of Kappa Kappa Gamma. There are multiple resources at your fingertips to help guide you as you oversee the All-Member Experience and prepare for each of the elements you are responsible for. New Member Begins at Formal Pledging and ends after the first year of membership. New members develop an understanding of themselves and their relationship to the chapter and Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. Middle Member Begins after the New Member Experience and ends at the start of senior year. Middle members develop leadership skills that can be used to impact and improve their chapter and campus community. Senior Member Begins at the start of senior year and ends with the transition to alumna status after graduation. Senior members are developing mentoring skills and connecting to their communities by actively working to benefit others through care, service, work, social responsibility and community involvement. Senior members are exploring the benefits of alumna membership and their impact on the greater Fraternity and community. Alumna Member Once a member graduates from college, she enters a stage of her life where she’s starting a new career, experiencing changes within her family, developing new relationships outside of her collegiate experience and exploring new alumna membership …show more content…

These educational programs should take the place of a regularly scheduled chapter meeting and should be approximately an hour to two hours long. Checklist ☐ During the spring, evaluate the chapter’s needs and wants regarding educational programming. • Survey members to find out what educational topics they are interested in. • Contact your fraternity and sorority adviser to find out if there is any campus-required programming during the coming year. • If your chapter is under Fraternity Council Action (i.e., Warning of Probation or Probation) or on a focus letter, consult the terms to determine if there are any educational programming requirements that must be fulfilled. Conduct six EME programs for the entire chapter. • Two are predetermined. Harm-reduction program o Expectations of membership • The chapter selects four educational programs. o Sisterhood: Team Building o Leadership: Values-Based Decision-Making o Well-Being: Mental Health and the Sleep Connection o Well-Being: Mental Health and Empathy o Well-Being: Prescription Drug
