The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a business and character support book, originally published in 1989 by Stephen R. Covey. It has sold more than 15 million copies in 38 languages around the world and yet still is one of the most excellent selling nonfiction reference business books.
As mentioned in the title, Stephen Covey describe seven various habits in order for an individual to become a successful human being. Habits are known as a frequent unconscious pattern of behaviors that are obtained through regular repetition.
Covey states that it’s never too late to replace your old destructive habits with new habits that have a positive effect on one’s life. Also that it is our responsibility to figure out what those habits are in order to replace them with Covey’s 7 habits.
People observe each and every single thing in life differently from one another which means we all spot things according to our paradigm. Therefore if we want to change our life we must change our point of view on things by internally changing our behavior and attitude.
By introducing what the basic theme of the book is, Stephen Covey then discloses the seven habits.

The first three habits reflect how a person should become independent rather than depending on others.

Covey tells us to invest in ourselves, which is the best investment you can make. To sharpen our saw effectively he also tells us four techniques that we should follow.
i. Physical
Exercising to keep your body working healthy and energetically. ii. Spiritual
Spending time on our religion or meditating. iii. Mental
Improving one’s skills by reading books, attending seminars, attaining formal education etc. iv. Emotional/ Social
Improving his/her communication and leadership skills along with the ability to co operate with other people efficiently.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People is thus a fascinating and effective life changing book that everyone who wants to improve as well as make their life more productive should read.
