Did you know texting and driving has ruined some people’s lives? Multitudinous individuals have either been severely injured or lost their lives as a result of drivers, sometimes themselves, that were texting. On May 16, sixteen-year old, Savannah Nash, died in a car crash that investigators found to be the result of texting and driving. Is it that difficult to just put your phone down long enough to reach your destination, maybe even save a life in the process? It could be your own life you are saving. When texting and driving, not only are you taking your eyes off the road for longer than a few seconds, your attention is completely on something else, making you further prone to getting into an accident. Persons, whom text and drive, are twenty-three times more likely to be involved in an accident. Texting requires your eyes off the road. You should consider everyone around you such as other motorists, your own passengers, and pedestrians. Don’t risk others’ lives or even your own just for one simple text. It can wait.
