Women are also twice as likely to suffer from tension headaches than men. Now this is where a tension and migraine will start to differ in a way. For some they can start to develop a tension headache from staring at a computer screen for too long to driving for long periods of time. Cold temperatures is another big trigger for a tension headache. Other triggers can be anything from eye strain, dry eyes, alcohol, fatigue, smoking, a simple cold or flu, sinus infection, caffeine, poor posture (which is a problem for many, myself included), and emotional stress. To the times where I would be out of work, stressed because I could not provide for myself like I wanted to and had to and unfortunately had to rely on other people. Just having so much heavy stuff and my mind and sometimes crying myself to sleep because everything was going from bad to worse and feeling like nothing good was going to come my way, I knew then something had to give. Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias (TACs) are highly interesting to me: This group of unilateral, excruciating primary headaches is accompanied by ipsilateral cranial autonomic symptoms and comprises of three major forms:
“The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease” by Thomas A. Edison. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments on the spine which will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. Chiropractic care began in 1895 when its founder, Daniel David Palmer, claimed any and all diseases could be healed by nothing more than just his hands. Dr. Palmer examined a janitor who was deaf for 17 years after the janitor felt his back was out of place, so Dr. Palmer gave an adjustment to what was felt to be a misplaced vertebra in the upper back. The janitor then observed that his hearing improved thanks to Dr. Palmer. Chiropractors use manipulation to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by sitting without proper back support. Chiropractic is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. About 22 million Americans visit chiropractors annually

There are two main types of pain that occur with this disorder. The first is known as hyperesthesia, which can be defined as a sensitivity to touch. It’s been hard the past two years. Headaches are not fun. A headache can be just a brain freeze that lasts a couple of minuets of a migraine that lasts a couple of hours. My headaches are different they last form the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep and they might even be going on while I’m sleeping and just not know it. I’ve had these headaches for two years so far and its scary since they could be damaging my brain; I am already starting to forget things like taking my medication or texting my mom when I get home.

I felt invincible. I never thought about sickness or not having enough food on the table or a roof over my head. I was invincible and so was everyone I love. It was not until the doctor came into the waiting room at two in the morning to tell us that my grandpa only had several hours left or when my beloved uncle was diagnosed with not one but two cancers that I came to this revelation; I am vulnerable and so was everyone around me. I could not afford to continue living selfishly and thinking that everything would always be perfect. When I discovered compassion I began to think about other people and grew into an understanding person. I realized how much work my parents were doing and how difficult it was on them. In an effort to relieve their
Massage therapy is a procedure that affects all systems of the body; digestive, respiratory, lymphatic, circulatory, endocrine and the nervous system. Massage can change the blood by increasing the oxygen capacity, affect the muscles, increase the body's secretions and excretions, affect the nervous system, enhance skin condition and it affects internal organs. Massages benefit you physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. Examples of such benefits are stress relief, a relaxed state, quicker recovery time and a bigger sense of self awareness. Massage aids in the circulation of blood, the movement of the lymphatic fluid, the release of toxins, the release of tension, mind/body integration, reduction of stress, energy and enhancement of all bodily systems. It was found in a study of University of Miami students that " a month's worth of massages heightened brain wave activities, decreased anxiety and helped students complete math problems in half the time and with fewer errors."
