It’s been hard the past two years. Headaches are not fun. A headache can be just a brain freeze that lasts a couple of minuets of a migraine that lasts a couple of hours. My headaches are different they last form the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep and they might even be going on while I’m sleeping and just not know it. I’ve had these headaches for two years so far and its scary since they could be damaging my brain; I am already starting to forget things like taking my medication or texting my mom when I get home.
I remember the first day of this non-stop pain; it was the beginning of the week in first period. I felt this jolt of pain flow though my head like a mohawk. I thought it would go away by the end of the period like the headaches I’ve had before, but it didn’t. On a scale of on to ten it was a ten and I was about to cry because the pain was so bad. Kate Chopin is very well known for her extremely unique writing. Not only are her works striking of feminism, but the way she approached topics were not easily tolerated at that time especially for her gender. Many of her stories tie into marriage and the unhappiness that it brings. In Desiree’s Baby Chopin says, “And the very spirit of Satan seemed suddenly to take hold of him…” Comparing the woman’s husband to that of Satan shows the intensity of disgust between the two in the relationship. Strong statements such as these are often seen in “The Storm” and “The Story of an Hour.” In Chopin’s life she was married, and her stories lead me to believe that she viewed her marriage as a trap and suffered from lack of privacy and control. Despite how provoking Chopin’s works were she was long ignored by readers and critics until her stories hit the surface in the 1960’s and became more popular. The women in her stories are constantly seeking freedom, lust, and attention.
In conclusion, A Day in Acupuncture was an excellent experience. The author felt energized after her treatment. Recommendations made by Jane have been taken into consideration and some of them such as eating every 2-3 hours, water intake, and applying oil at onset headache are easily achievable. Diet, exercise and meditation are more time consuming, so is still a struggle to do, especially the elimination of caffeine and spicy food from diet. Yes, it is a battle but nevertheless a battle that is worth fighting if the result is no more migraine

Nociception Pain is possibly the most unpleasant sensation our senses can detect. Even though we typically fail to remember what pain feels like when we are not experiencing it, we certainly do not wish to experience pain. Despite pain's unpleasantness, it has to be appreciated for what it is. Namely, a mechanism that allows us to avoid dangerous situations, prevent further damage, and promote the healing process. Pain allows us to remove ourselves from dangerous situations, as we attempt to move away from noxious stimuli that cause pain.

Soccer players go through extreme measures to be the fastest, toughest, and most technical on the field. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. In America soccer is becoming increasingly more popular every year. Soccer is played with almost no protection except for a six inch shin guard that is supposed to protect ones shin. Soccer is a so different from other sports because there is no head gear for soccer. In the game of soccer one can get hit in the head by another players head, fall on the ground, or even purposely head the ball. Concussions can occur in so many different ways in soccer. Concussions are serious because it causes damage to the brain. There are new rules stating that if a player in any sport gets three concussions then they will have to stop playing sports. There have been tests set for athletes to take to watch for concussions but is this enough to really make a difference? Athletes lie so they can play in the next game and computer programs can be wrong but watching athletes more closely is important. This is why I believe that concussions should be taken more seriously and monitored more closely.

Sleep is necessary for all the human kinds be healthy and maintain daily activities. A lot of problems will arise if a person lacks energy or having some sort of disorder while sleeping. I started getting headaches in the Spring of 2015 which I attributed to stress at school. I used a particular brand of over-the-counter headache medicine with my parents’ permission however, what I didn’t know was that this headache medicine was to be taken every 12 hours, not every 4. Chronic pain is pain that is considered to last longer than six months. Chronic pain can be mild to excruciating, and episodic or continuous ("Community," n.d.). With chronic pain, the pain may remain active in the nervous system for months or years (Ratini, 2004). A recent study estimated that 31 percent of the adult United States population suffers from chronic pain, most commonly lower back or osteoarthritic pain (Bostwick, 2014). Chronic idiopathic (i.e. non-cancer related) pain is a significant public health concern, characterized by considerable emotional distress and impairment of social and occupational functioning (Zvolensky, 2011). This distress and impairment leave many adults feeling helpless and on the search for a treatment that will manage the pain.
“Class,” I announced, “today I will teach you a simpler method to find the greatest common factor and the least common multiple of a set of numbers.” In fifth grade, my teacher asked if anyone had any other methods to find the greatest common factor of two numbers. I volunteered, and soon the entire class, and teacher, was using my method to solve problems. Teaching my class as a fifth grader inspired me to teach others how important math and science is. These days, I enjoy helping my friends with their math homework, knowing that I am helping them understand the concept and improve their grades.
Humor is an essential part of my daily life. Causing someone to laugh and feel amused varies from person to person. What I find funny may not be funny to others. My sense of humor may vary, from watching comedy movies, to late night comedy talk shows. What I find mostly funny are Internet memes or funny Internet videos, because they have both been modified into distinct funny phrases or modified into funny videos that cause humor and they are always new ones being created, you can also share them to give someone else laughter. My sense of humor comes from my dad, growing up we would watch Spanish comedy on television together, though not all humor can be funny, because I believe there is a line that should not be crossed when using humor.
Usually when you end up drifting off to sleep, you fall into a deep sleep and begin to experience a so called dream.” However, most children, and even some adults, experience some even more terrifying so called dreams. These dreams are called nightmares. Nightmares have been occurring in people’s sleep for hundreds of years. People have been interested in them for centuries and they have quite an interesting past to them.
My father having recently passed away, I was feeling nostalgic and found myself back in Livingston, haunting some of the old places of my youth: Becker's Farm; the National Little League baseball fields (we called it the sandpit); Northland Pool, and the adjacent water basin with the big painted rock titling rakishly at the far end of the field. The basin is now a soccer field, where I saw several coaches running young girls through various kicking drills. Some of the balls bounced into the concrete culvert which cuts through the center of the field and connects with a smallish drainage pipe—that pipe running under Bryant Drive and into a brook that flows past my boyhood home on McClellan Avenue. The pipe where I stood and watched the girls practice was the big pipe, the tunnel, the entrance to the cave where after forty years I could still stand straight, the sluggish stream of murky water flowing between my feet, and walk comfortably past its graffiti-covered walls rolling under the earth.
At no point in life can you be perfect at anything, but you can prepare yourself for the adventures of life. One of life’s biggest challenges is marriage. Marriage requires preparation emotionally and spiritually. Marriage is considered to be one of the hardest aspects of life to control. Merging two different customary lifestyles into one can be difficult especially since the feelings of both are involved. I have learned both the numerous ways to destroy and build a successful marriage. Marriage is the union of man and woman becoming as one flesh according to God’s law and the law of the land.
Every day from the time that you wake up till the time you go to sleep your life will be a battle. There will be people why try to bring you down. You will have teachers who will frustrate you mentally. There will be students and people who you call your friends that might frustrate you physically. All of these are things that test who you really are. People can frustrate or hurt you mentally of physically, but they can never touch your soul. That is what must get you up in the morning.
