With the exponential growth of technology what previously took a lifetime of work can now be accomplished within a few years. Over the period of this exponential increase, Technology-Mediated Communication (TMC) has become essential for the growth of many countries. This is true for both economic and social development as we are much more connected with one another compared to a few years ago. There are various forms an individual can use to communicate with someone ranging from a simple text message to using more complex systems such as video conferences. Photo sharing applications consist of “Publishing a user's digital photos, enabling the user to share photos with others either publicly or privately” (DelValle). Ms. Sarah Harris from the daily mail suggests that Facebook creates the need for users to become ‘mini-celebrities’ which is particularly true for Instagram users. Instagram relies heavily on the use of photos and videos from the user to communicate with other users what is going on in their life. Instagram photos are normally photoshop heavy which give off the impression that the user’s life is more glamorous than what it really is. Snapchat is another popular photo sharing application that is very much the “Microblogger” of the photo sharing classification. Snapchat is strictly a smart phone application that allows users to post short videos or images of what they are doing at that exact moment. Snapchat has an auto-deletion feature where the message/image/video sent to another user is instantly deleted after that user views it. Many individuals take the auto-delete feature to heart as this is where much of the inappropriate behavior is posted which may not win over employers if they do find out what that individual does on the
